"Back to Bedlam" is James Blunt?s debut album, a collection of beautiful songs delivered by his distinctive voice. Elton John, whom he has supported on tour, compared the track "You?re Beautiful" with his own "Your Song".
Nothing destined James Blunt for a career in music. He was born into a military family who did not even possess a record player. At the age of seven he was sent to boarding school where he learned to play piano and then guitar. After a stint at Bristol University, he joined the army and was eventually made Captain. He was the first British officer in Pristina, leading 30,000 peacekeeping troops and patrolling with a guitar bolted to his tank. Leaving the army in 2002, he became a full-time musician, signing management and publishing deals within months. His first album was recorded in California and produced by Tom Rothrock (Beck, Elliott Smith). James Blunt is a rising star who has tales to tell and the talent to tell them. Listen.
