Ghinzu formed in Belgium in 1999. The singer and pianist John Stargasm and his acolytes then delivered a first self-produced album, "Electronic Jacuzzi". A few years later, the brazen Belgians put out the incandescent "Blow".
After attracting a great deal of attention at the Transmusicales de Rennes in 2001, the band continue to build up an excellent reputation based on both their live performances and albums, on which energy and sweat flirt to great effect with powerful melodies and everything comes wrapped in highly polished production. Ghinzu, whose name comes from a brand of Japanese knives, whose slogan is "the more you cut the sharper it gets", are demonstrating that they are improving with age and have given contemporary pop a kick up the backside. Get ready for some non-stop pogoing on this night of the Festival!
